Aoud Velvet by Montale - most horrible of Montale ouds. It has strong loud and quite uncommon opening: it smells like a burst of a bomb in an apothecary. Old apothecary, I mean – with all its cough mixtures, infusions and balms. It is near unpleasant and entirely countercultural as well. I can hear saffron, oud and some 'molecules’.
Then in the heart it shows dark deep red roses, rose oil, very romantic and well-mixed with sharp apothecary oud-like notes. Aoud Velvet likes hot weather and shows all its rose fields.
Base is totally frustrative. Cheap and quite standard, it does not fit neither opening, neither heart: creamy and synthetic tiare-vanilla with touch of frankincense, amber and sandalwood (not the Amouage Gold, alas!).
Aoud Velvet от Montale – самый ужасный из удов Montale. Мощное, убийственно громкое и совершенно нетривиальное начало - как бомба, взорванная в старой аптеке, в ее рецептурном отделе, среди мазей, микстур и настоек. Почти отвратительное и совершенно анархическое начало. Шафран, агар и всякая химия.
Следом за этим из ужаса проступают роскошные темно-красные розы, романтично выступающие из-за аптечного удообразного ужаса. Aoud Velvet любит жару и завлекает в жару на свои розовые поля.
База – полное унылое разочарование, дешевка, не соответствующая ни началу, ни развитию. Сливочно-ванильный тиарэ со следами ладана, амбры и сандала (хоть похоже на Amouage Gold, только все же не...).
